What Would Mom Say: start here

This kit sets up a Claude Project in your own account. Nothing is sent anywhere.

1. Create a project

   Go to https://claude.ai/projects (opens in a new tab), name it What Would Mom Say, then next to "Instructions" choose "Add" (the box that opens is titled "Set project instructions"). The link opens your Projects list, not a preinstalled kit; create a new project.

2. Add the instructions

   Open PROJECT-INSTRUCTIONS.txt from this kit, select all, copy, paste into the instructions box, save.

3. Start a new chat

   In the project you just created, start a new chat (not the general "New chat" button in the sidebar) and paste: Help me set this up. Ask one question at a time, and let me skip anything I do not want to share.

Mom asks three quick questions, then you are talking. Saving your profile for future chats is optional and comes later.

Try it with this, or your own situation: "I keep saying yes to things, and now my week is full. There is something I want to do for myself, but it keeps getting pushed aside." There is no single correct response.

If something goes wrong

• Cannot copy: open PROJECT-INSTRUCTIONS.txt in any text editor, select all, and copy.
• Cannot find project instructions: go back to the project overview and look for "Instructions" in the right-hand panel; its action reads "Add" before anything is saved and "Edit" after.
• Setup repeats in a fresh chat: check that the generated profile replaced the placeholder in the project instructions, not just in a chat.
• Something feels wrong: say "softer" or "no advice right now," or stop using it.
